The battle field

Here the battles of the Vikings are fought

Moesgaard Viking Moot differs from other fairs, not just in size or beautiful location, but in the number of warriors who gather.

The battles that take place during the weekend is known as the unofficial ‘Viking World Championship’. As opposed to many fight shows, these battles are not directed and pre-determined – they are very serious. During the week leading up to the battles, the warriors discover each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Two armies are forged and they fight in four battles for final victory.

Each battle ends in the Circle. The Circle fight is one man’s fight against many. The warriors take turns fighting until only one remains victorious.
